His pursuit of excellence continued with certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Preventive Medicine, and Dr. Gioia later earned a Master of Public Health Degree from Columbia University School of Public Health in 1981. Most recently, he became certified in Clinical Informatics in December 2013, showcasing his dedication to integrating technology with medicine.

Dr. Gioia’s extensive professional experience includes serving as a Physician for the Cayuga County Department of Health Well Child Clinic from 1981 to 1990 and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at various institutions, including the NY College of Osteopathic Medicine. His leadership roles include serving as President of the Cayuga County Medical Society from 1999 to 2001. Dr. Gioia has also contributed significantly to research in pediatric care, presenting findings at major conferences and participating in key initiatives such as the Auburn Memorial Hospital Strategic Planning Task Force.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Gioia is a devoted family man, a proud father to two sons and a daughter. His commitment to both his patients and family reflects his belief in the importance of health, education, and community service.
