More on World Front News Stories:

YAAACE, a renowned organization dedicated to fostering academic excellence, athletic development, and character education for Black and equity-denied groups, has been a beacon of hope for many young individuals for nearly two decades. By partnering with Spirit of Math, an innovative leader in education, YAAACE continues its mission to empower the next generation through academic support.

“We are excited to partner with Spirit of Math to provide our students with this incredible opportunity,” said Devon Jones. “This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to close the education and opportunity gap for youth in our community.”

The collaboration marks another chapter in the ongoing partnership between Spirit of Math and YAAACE that began in September 2020 with the creation of the afternoon and weekend supplementary academic program called the Community School Initiative (CSI). Selecting Grades 2 to 8 students from the Jane and Finch community in Toronto, Canada, CSI aimed to understand the potential of synergetic collaborative partnerships between the public/non-profit and the private sector to mitigate systemic barriers impeding student achievement at the community level. The results of that study affirm the importance of such place-based community partnerships, especially for students who had access to caring adults during a difficult transition period created by pandemic restrictions.
