The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has cemented his numero uno spot in the players ranking for batsmen in the ICC ODI rankings after he scored brilliant half-centuries in the three-match series against Australia that concluded recently.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli gave a terrific performance and scored 89 and 63 in the second and last ODI against the mighty Australians that was held in Sydney and Canberra respectively and has fetched him 870 points.

Rohit Sharma is at the second spot with 842 points after he has missed the ODI series because of a hamstring injury. He is just 5 points ahead of Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper who is at the third spot in the rankings.

The Indian all-rounder, Hardik Pandya has been playing his first ODI since the time of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, has struck a 90 run knock in the first game of the series followed by an unbeaten 92 in the third and it was the first time that he appeared in the list of top 50 batsmen and ranked at the 49th place with a career-best number of points at 553.

Skipper Aaron finch from the Australian camp played brilliantly in the first ODI and his score of 114 in the inning was followed by two great back to back knocks of 60 and 75 helped him to a tally of 791 points that is his career-best and landed him on the fifth place in the ranking that is just behind the best of fourth achieved by him in June last year.

The twin centuries by Steve Smith in the first couple of matches of the ODI series has made his move back into the top 20 in the ICC ODI rankings for the first time since the year 2018. Currently, he is at the 15th spot with a whopping 707 points.

An innings of 167 runs by Glenn Maxwell in the series that came at a staggering strike rate of 194.18 and that also featured two well-made half-centuries pushed him back at the top spot in the rank among the first 20. Since February 2017, this is the first time that he has been in the top 20.

In the ICC ODI rankings for bowling, Jasprit Bumrah from India remained at the third position with a massive 700 points. The New Zealand pace sensation, Trent Boult is at the top spot with 722 points, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the spinner from Afghanistan has occupied the second spot.

IN the ODI series between the two might opponents India and Australia saw some great batting. Although the series is dominated by batsman a big impact with the ball is made by Adam Zampa that has enabled him to enter the top 20 spots for the very first time among the Australian bowlers.

The seven wickets by Zampa took him to the 14th spot with career-best 623 points.
