Dr. Arcos completed a two-year military training program in pain medicine at the USAF Regional Hospital Homestead and was awarded the United Air Force Commendation Medal for contributions to pain medicine.
Recognized by his peers as a leader in the field of pain medicine, Dr. Arcos has served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He has held faculty appointments at the Florida State University College of Medicine, University of Florida College of Medicine, Nova Southeastern University of Health Sciences, University of Miami School of Medicine, and Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his tenure at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Arcos directed all resident education in pain medicine and was appointed Medical Director of the South Georgia/North Florida Veterans Healthcare System, where he transformed the pain program into a nationally recognized model for comprehensive patient care
After completing a fellowship in Bioethics at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Arcos was named the American Osteopathic Association nominee to The President’s Council on Bioethics.
Dr. Arcos is a member of the Editorial Board of the international journal, Pain Physician, as well as Interventional Pain Reports.
