Roen commented, “My passion for family stories was kindled when I was a teenager. Grandma Roen shared with me stories about family members I knew and some who existed only in Grandma’s memory. Since then, my passion for family stories has resulted in nearly 20,000 pages of daily journal entries and other writing about the people who matter to me most. Reading something that I wrote forty-five years ago is like watching a video of what happened that day–all the memories come flooding back. One of my goals is to help others write about their experiences with their families–so that their memories can also come flooding back.”
Through this collaboration, Read The Future and Duane seek to foster creativity, inspire amusing dialogues, and promote artistic exploration within the community. The talk show program will serve as a catalyst for in-depth entertainment, artistic expression, and the sharing of ideas that can positively impact lives.
“We hold gratitude for the chance to learn and inspire with Duane. To us, it’s a means to enrich and encourage local students with a strong foundation in the arts. His writing workshops are an anecdote in the community and combined with our mission to provide educational programs, we have faith it will translate to uplifting opportunities.” said Derick F. Tangap, Founder of Read The Future. “This is a step forward, it will enhance our capacity to broaden our mission through the expression of creativity and conversations.”
The upcoming talk show promises to be a dynamic platform that will not only entertain but also enlighten audiences with diverse perspectives and voices. Stay tuned for more information on the show’s premiere date and lineup of fascinating guests.
