A proud native of Hemet, California, Dr. Chaudhuri’s dedication to healthcare began at an early age. Born in Pennsylvania, she moved to Hemet with her family when she was three years old and attended Hemet Unified School District schools from kindergarten through high school. An accomplished student, she participated in California Girls State and Academic Decathlon before graduating as Valedictorian of Hemet High School’s Class of 1999.
She went on to attend UCLA, where she majored in History while completing pre-medical coursework. During her undergraduate years, she was actively involved in community service through a co-ed service fraternity, served as an officer in the Asian Pacific Coalition, and participated on the Student Fee Advisory Committee, which advised the Chancellor on student-funded campus programs and services.
Following graduation, Dr. Chaudhuri earned her Medical Degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency training in internal medicine through programs affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Northwestern in Chicago, experiences that helped shape both her clinical expertise and passion for medical education.
“I always knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could take care of patients in the hospital,” Dr. Chaudhuri explains. “I remember as a child finding the hospital to be a distressing experience, but it also made me want to help other people going through similar situations and make their experience a little easier.”
After residency, Dr. Chaudhuri moved to Milwaukee, where she worked as an internist and Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 2013, she and her husband, an ophthalmologist and Wisconsin native, returned to Southern California, where she joined the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine.
Following the birth of her identical twin sons, Dr. Chaudhuri focused her efforts closer to home, helping develop hospitalist and residency programs within her local community. Her passion for graduate medical education continued to grow, leading her into leadership roles that have allowed her to influence the training and mentorship of hundreds of future physicians.
Beyond healthcare administration and education, Dr. Chaudhuri remains deeply engaged in advocacy and public service. She currently serves as president-elect of the Riverside County Medical Association, where she works to advance physician leadership and healthcare policy initiatives. She also served on the Hemet Unified School District Board from 2020 to 2023, helping guide the district through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her commitment to community extends through her service on the boards of the Healthy Valley Foundation and the Western Science Center, organizations dedicated to improving health, education, and quality of life throughout the region.
