Murphy is the founder of Dance Walking Fool, INC, a lived-experience-informed suicide prevention education nonprofit, and is hosting a festive event that focuses on what the late psychologist and Holocaust survivor, Dr. Edith Eger’s philosophy: “The opposite of depression is expression.”

The event is creating some buzz on Eventbrite, where tickets are being sold, with two significant silent auction donations this past week from Artage Portraits in Mississauga, ON, with a $3,000 family portrait package and a $995 pet portrait package. A resort hotel stay where the winner can pick from destinations like Las Vegas, NYC, or Orlando, or Anaheim, CA is also an offering of the silent auction.

The event is taking place at Taco Taco, 319 August Avenue in Kensington Market, from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm on Monday, July 20, 2026. The event still has room for a few vendors with tables costing $25 and a raffle prize donation for the curated shopping feature of the event. There will be a table set up where people can create a take-home art project, and an all-arts open mic featuring local talent in music, comedy, poetry, and storytelling. There is still time to sign up to perform. Marianne is a certified health coach, is Mental Health First Aid certified, and is an award-winning storyteller, poet, an amateur comic. She was recently cast for the TV series “Inside Success: America’s Authors” that will highlight the work she has done through her nonprofit, Dance Walking Fool, INC. She will be filming her episode on October 7, 2026, in Miami Beach, FLA.

Murphy has developed a lived-experience-informed framework for peer support training that bridges clinician and academic expertise with the reality of lived experienced called CRAN. She maintains that peer support is a trainable skill that everyone is capable of learning and that talking about suicidal ideation and self-harm is what saves lives.
