Dr. Alexandra Wolfingbarger, Featured by America’s Best In Medicine, Provides Compassionate At-Home Pet Euthanasia Care

The CodaPet Veterinarian Draws On Years of Shelter Medicine, Emergency Triage and High-Volume Surgery to Help Families Through One Of Life’s Hardest Goodbyes

(WorldFrontNews Editorial):- Columbus, Ohio Oct 29, 2026 (Issuewire.com) – Dr. Alexandra Wolfingbarger, DVM, BSA, a veterinarian with CodaPet in Columbus, is dedicated to helping families say goodbye to their beloved pets with dignity, comfort and compassion. Now focused on at-home pet euthanasia, she brings families across central Ohio a rare combination of clinical experience and gentle, people-centered communication at the moment they need it most.

At-home euthanasia allows a pet to pass peacefully in familiar surroundings, surrounded by the people who love them, without the stress of a car ride or a clinic waiting room. For Dr. Wolfingbarger, the work reflects the same values that have guided her career from the start: respect for the animal, honesty with the family, and care that does not feel rushed.

Her path to veterinary medicine began at The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Animal Science in 2016. While there, she served as President of the Pre-Vet Club and took part in the Animal Behavior Club, Community Council and the Directors’ Dozen student orientation leadership program. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in June 2022, returning to Ohio State to complete her clinical year.

Dr. Wolfingbarger’s early career was built in some of the most demanding settings in the field. As Lead Veterinarian at the Humane Society of Delaware County from 2022 to 2023, she managed high-volume caseloads across multiple species and introduced policies that improved clinic workflow. As an Associate Veterinarian at Gigi’s, she specialized in high-volume spay and neuter surgery and dental procedures, and treated parvovirus using advanced monoclonal antibody therapies. With the Licking County Humane Society, she led vaccine clinics and delivered comprehensive preventive care while keeping clients informed and supported.

Along the way, she has performed thousands of spay and neuter procedures and taken part in complex surgeries including limb amputations, splenectomies, cystotomies and foreign body removals. Her surgical experience also includes prophylactic gastropexy, perineal urethrostomy, and corrective procedures for entropion and pyometra. Her background in emergency triage, disease identification and outbreak prevention has sharpened her ability to make clear, calm decisions under pressure.

That depth of experience matters in end-of-life care. Families often have difficult questions about quality of life, pain and timing, and Dr. Wolfingbarger’s broad clinical background allows her to answer them with confidence and candor, helping owners feel certain they are making a loving choice.

Colleagues know her as a collaborative, goal-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments. She has also invested in the next generation of animal care professionals, teaching and mentoring veterinary and veterinary technician students, and has supported community vaccine clinics and preventive care outreach throughout her career.

Through her work with CodaPet, Dr. Wolfingbarger continues to pursue the goal that has defined her practice: improving the lives of animals and the people who care for them, right through to the very end.
