A Story of Faith, Courage, Service, and Divine Protection
(WorldFrontNews Editorial):- Los Angeles, California Oct 30, 2026 (Issuewire.com) – Touched by the Hand of God is a powerful personal testimony of faith, courage, miracles, guardian angels, and the extraordinary journey of Patricia L. Blake, a longtime Los Angeles Police Department officer whose life and career were shaped by experiences she believes demonstrated God’s presence and protection.
Blake’s story brings together more than three decades of law-enforcement experience with deeply personal moments of tragedy, faith, divine intervention, and perseverance. Her testimony offers readers a look behind the badge while exploring the emotional and spiritual experiences that can emerge during life’s most difficult moments.
THE STORY: A JOURNEY OF FAITH, SERVICE, AND COURAGE
At the heart of Touched by the Hand of God is Patricia L. Blake’s remarkable life journey.
Blake joined the Los Angeles Police Department in May 1983 and retired in 2016 after more than 33 years of service. During her career, she served in numerous assignments and leadership positions, gaining experience in patrol, gang enforcement, investigations, management, community relations, and specialized police operations.
Her career included service at Rampart, Wilshire, Van Nuys, Management Services, West Valley, and Foothill Divisions. She became one of the first two female Field Training Officers at Rampart Division and was recognized as Officer of the Year at Rampart in 1987. She later became the first female Senior Lead Officer at Rampart.
As a sergeant, Blake developed a Special Problems Unit focused on violent gang and narcotics activity. Her team received a Meritorious Unit Citation for its contribution to improving the quality of life in the community.
She later served in leadership roles involving gang enforcement, investigations, watch command, and community outreach. She also became Officer-in-Charge of the mounted horse and rider Cavalry unit, which focused on crime prevention, education, community interaction, search and rescue, emergency preparedness, and outreach to children.
But beyond the professional accomplishments is a deeply personal story.
One of the most significant experiences described in the book occurred when Blake was nineteen years old, following a devastating tragedy. During a moment of overwhelming grief, she describes experiencing what she understood as the unmistakable presence of God or one of His angels. The experience transformed the way she viewed faith, divine protection, and the presence of God in her life.
That experience became part of a much larger journey–one that eventually led her into a career dedicated to protecting and serving others.
