IP-focused investor group of patent attorneys, IP lawyers, and patent-firm leaders backs PatentyAI’s next phase of growth
(WorldFrontNews Editorial):- Seoul, South Korea Jun 29, 2026 (Issuewire.com) – Patenty Inc., the company behind PatentyAI, an AI-powered patent workflow platform, today announced that it has secured an investment from Genesis Patenty No. 1 Private Investment Association. The investment amount was not disclosed by mutual agreement between the parties.
The investment group includes 10 intellectual property professionals across Korea, the United States, and Germany, including patent attorneys, IP lawyers, and patent-firm executives. Patenty said the round represents more than financial backing: it reflects validation from practitioners who understand the operational realities of patent prosecution, global IP strategy, and the growing demand for trustworthy AI in patent work.
PatentyAI supports the full patent practice lifecycle in a single workspace, including patent specification drafting, comprehensive document review, office action response support, prior art search, multi-jurisdiction patent conversion, and PCT translation review. The company has recently intensified its product strategy around one central objective: building AI that IP professionals can trust.
For Patenty, trust in AI is not limited to data security. It also means helping practitioners understand why a document was generated in a particular way, what supporting basis exists for the output, and how consistency or potential errors can be evaluated across an entire patent document. To support that goal, the company is combining generative AI with deterministic verification infrastructure designed to improve reliability, traceability, and reproducibility in patent-document workflows.
Patenty’s recently released review and translation-review features reflect this direction. The platform can help analyze document structure, claim-specification support, terminology consistency, reference numerals, typographical errors, and overall drafting quality through structured review workflows. Its PCT translation review feature helps compare source and translated documents for correspondence, omissions, and terminology consistency. By structurally indexing patent documents and tracking relationships across document elements, PatentyAI aims to reduce error risk and strengthen confidence in final outputs.
With the new investment, Patenty plans to deepen its position in the Korean market while expanding touchpoints with international users. The company expects to leverage the networks of participating IP professionals in the United States and Germany to explore collaboration opportunities with foreign patent attorneys, IP lawyers, patent firms, and corporate IP teams. While Korea remains Patenty’s initial validation market, the company’s long-term strategy is to expand into a global AI patent workflow platform that reflects the practice requirements and document formats of major IP5 jurisdictions: the United States, China, Japan, Korea, and Europe.
Patenty recently appointed Byeong-cheol Na as CEO. Na previously led B2B sales for Law.ai, a leading AI-powered legal management service in Korea, at Humax Holdings.
“The fact that patent practitioners themselves have invested in Patenty is a strong signal of confidence in the practical reliability of PatentyAI,” said Na. “We will move beyond specification automation and expand into an IP intelligence platform that supports broader IP strategy. Our goal is to grow quickly from leading Korean patent firms into the IP5 global market and corporate IP organizations.”
Sangmin Lee, founder of Patenty and currently CSO and CFO, added: “The value of AI in patent practice does not end with generating documents faster. True trustworthy AI should enable professionals to review with confidence, verify supporting grounds, and take responsibility for the final output.”
Lee continued: “PatentyAI began as a tool to support patent specification drafting, but our next phase is focused on strengthening the infrastructure that helps experts trust and verify AI-generated results. With the practical feedback and global networks of the IP professionals participating in this investment, we will continue improving product reliability and expanding our global potential.”
