Dr. Oli began his medical journey in Nepal, where he earned his Medical Degree in 2015 after completing five and a half years of medical education and internship training. Following medical school, he worked as a house officer from 2015 to 2020, gaining valuable experience in internal medicine and developing a strong foundation in comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Driven by a desire to expand his clinical knowledge and pursue advanced training, Dr. Oli completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination pathway and continued his education in the United States. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca from 2020 to 2023, where he further developed his skills in managing complex medical conditions across diverse patient populations.
During his residency, Dr. Oli practiced through one of the most challenging periods in modern medicine–the COVID-19 pandemic. Caring for critically ill patients during this time profoundly shaped his approach to medicine and strengthened his dedication to pulmonary and critical care. Witnessing patients recover from severe respiratory illness, including prolonged ventilator support, and later reconnecting with them through outpatient pulmonary care inspired him to pursue fellowship training in this specialty.
As Chief Fellow, Dr. Oli manages a broad spectrum of complex pulmonary and critical care conditions, including respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis, septic shock, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations, asthma, lung cancer, pulmonary nodules, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep-disordered breathing. He is experienced in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), transbronchial and endobronchial biopsies, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, tunneled pleural catheter placement, and the interpretation of pulmonary function testing (PFT) and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).

As a Senior Clinical Instructor at Geisinger Medical Center, he mentors medical students, residents, and junior fellows while teaching essential concepts in mechanical ventilation, shock management, and complex pulmonary disorders. Through education and mentorship, he strives to prepare future healthcare professionals to deliver thoughtful and evidence-based care.
Dr. Oli remains actively involved in the advancement of pulmonary and critical care medicine through his memberships with the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST).
