Dr. Powell’s journey into medicine was shaped by personal experience and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Originally studying literature at Yale University, he was inspired to pursue medicine after losing his father to cancer during his college years. This experience became a defining moment that led him to complete a post-baccalaureate program and pursue a career focused on improving patient outcomes.
He earned his Medical Degree from Jefferson Medical College, now known as Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, in 2009. Following medical school, he completed his internship before pursuing diagnostic radiology residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel from 2010 to 2014. Dr. Powell then completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University from 2014 to 2015. He is board-certified in both diagnostic radiology and vascular & interventional radiology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Powell remains committed to lifelong learning and personal growth. He continues to engage in radiology research and publications while enjoying gardening, reading, and exploring the arts.
