Born and raised on the island, she currently practices at two clinical centers, with her primary role at the CAMI Center in Las Piedras, where she serves as a school psychologist providing specialized services to students with special education needs.
With approximately five to six months of professional practice as a licensed psychologist, Karla works closely with children and adolescents diagnosed with conditions including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, conduct disorders, and others. Through individualized psychological support, she helps students develop coping strategies that strengthen emotional regulation, social development, behavioral skills, and academic success within different environments.

Karla earned her Master of Science in School Psychology Degree from Ponce Health Sciences University in December 2024, where she received Academic Honor & Department Awards. She previously received a Master of Science in Autism and Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders from Albizu University in December 2021. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 2019, building a strong academic foundation that prepared her for a career centered on serving children and families.
Her commitment to advancing the field extends beyond clinical practice. In 2023, Karla published and presented an article in Behavioral Sciences Magazine, affiliated with Albizu University, reflecting her interest in research and evidence-based psychological care.
Outside of her clinical responsibilities, Karla has a history of volunteering in equine-assisted therapy sessions and interventions. She has also collaborated with the Miss Puerto Rico organization, presenting workshops focused on self-esteem and empowerment. Through these educational programs, she encourages confidence, personal growth, and emotional resilience among participants.
Karla’s professional philosophy centers on commitment, service to vulnerable populations, and excellence in care. She is passionate about equipping children and families with lifelong skills that promote emotional wellness, healthy relationships, and academic achievement. Looking ahead, she hopes to establish her own holistic care center that integrates traditional psychological services with complementary approaches such as music, dance, art therapy, and other wellness-based practices designed to support the whole person.
In addition to psychology, Karla has maintained an active presence in the modeling industry for the past three years. She has participated in several pageants and competitions, earning recognition as a first runner-up and receiving Best Talent awards. She is currently preparing to represent Puerto Rico as Miss Hispanoamérica Puerto Rico 2026 in an international modeling competition in the Dominican Republic.
Her interests extend into the performing arts, including singing and acting, as well as fitness and lifelong learning. Karla is also studying Korean and Japanese, reflecting her passion for personal development and cultural exploration.
