Mental health, crisis support, treatment, housing, and legal resources brought together for communities statewide.
(WorldFrontNews Editorial):- Elk River, Minnesota Nov 2, 2026 (Issuewire.com) – Minnesota Pretrial Network Puts Over 2,500 Resource Listings in One Free Directory
Searchable by city, county, and service type, the website helps Minnesotans find mental health care, crisis support, treatment, housing, and legal resources.
Minnesotans searching for help now have a free starting point that brings thousands of resource connections together. Minnesota Pretrial Network offers over 2,500 resources and listings across 22 categories, with guides covering all 87 Minnesota counties.
The website, www.MinnesotaPretrialNetwork.com, addresses a problem Derek P. Nelson encountered repeatedly over a two-decade career: people needed support, but neither they nor those helping them always knew where to turn.
A family looking for addiction treatment might also need housing. Someone facing a mental health crisis might need local support unfamiliar to their loved ones. An arrest could leave a household searching for legal help while trying to address the circumstances that came before it.
“We tell people to get help, but finding that help can become a challenge of its own,” said Nelson, who developed the network. “Over the years, I saw families trying to figure out answers while already overwhelmed. They needed somewhere to start. That is why we built Minnesota Pretrial Network.”
The resource site is easy to navigate, with many ways to search for needed services. Listings include mental health services, county and tribal crisis contacts, residential and crisis programs, substance-use treatment, shelters, emergency housing, victim services, and many more!
The network is open to everyone. No court involvement is required.
Individuals, families, caregivers, and professionals can use the website for free. That was the entire purpose: to offer something anyone can access at zero cost. Service-provider sponsorships currently pay the full cost of running the website, keeping it free for the public. Sponsored placements are labeled. As the network grows, we may pursue nonprofit status and other funding to bring resources within reach of more Minnesotans. Providers who notice a missing service or an outdated contact are encouraged to let the network know. Those details matter when someone is making that first call for help!
