The Australian Head Coach, Justin Langer, backed the Australian captain Tim Paine after the incidents that happened in SCG that ended in one of the most thrilling draws. In the entire course of the third test of the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, some unsavory comments are made by the Aussie captain that is directed at the umpires and also R. Ashwin, but he later apologized for that. It has been far removed and the conduct that is attempted by the Australians in a bid to change their image of their team followed by the Sandpapergate.

Langer went on to say in a press conference that he has got enough faith in Paine on Wednesday. He further added that it was not the best day for him but in these three years he has hardly put a hair in the wrong place. As an Australian captain, he has been outstanding in whatever he does and as ill-luck would have it, it was a bad day for him. He has set a high standard for himself and it is quite understandable that he is going to be criticized for this act. Tim Paine is a great leader and will continue to remain so in the coming few years. Langer also said to extend his full support for the Australian test captain.

The conduct by the Australian team on the final day on the field is a slip from what they have been trying as they want to remodel themselves in the last two years who can undo a lot of things potentially that they did in creating a new culture in Australia.

He also added that he remembered a great fan of his who told him a few years ago that to build a hotel or a house a lot of years are required but to rip it off, it takes just a couple of hours with a bulldozer. Langer urged the Australian team to be at the top of their game every time they turn out to play but one must keep it in mind that the players are also humans. In almost all situations, they are part of different circumstances as they have been in England, part of IPL, and also in hubs and stuffs like that entire sort. But the most important thing is to be at the top of the game.

This is a very challenging thing about leadership and one of the most challenging things is to talk about culture and its importance. The fact is that one cannot slip, and if one does happen to slip he is criticized for that. But hopefully, the Aussies dare to say no and this is the same way they are going to behave.

Paine was involved in a lot of verbal exchanges and the day he had behind the stumps was pretty much forgettable as he dropped catches on the last day of the match.
